OUR PHILOSOPHY
At Pawsitive DiMensions, we strive to teach you a common language in order to communicate better with your pet. We believe training should be fun and rewarding for both you and your pet. It should be less like work and more like play! We advocate force free, fear free, pet and family friendly techniques that promote relationship building so everyone is having a good time.
These techniques are based on the science and research of how animals learn, think and feel. We focus on teaching your pet what to do, and work to create a training environment which will promote learning for you and your pet. We are dedicated to bringing you and your pet the benefits of the most up-to-date information. We are committed to participating in multi-faceted continuing education such as conferences, courses, books, scientific publications and discussions with peers.
Our approach is as your partner in your pet’s behavior wellness. We consider each pet and family to have their own unique needs, but overall you can expect a combination of reward based training principles, games, creativity, management, realistic expectations and compassionate support as part of your training experience.
About The Founder
Gayle DiMenna LVT, CPDT-KA, KPA CTP
As an educated and experienced veterinary technician and pet trainer, Gayle understands that the overall wellness of a pet affects his or her behavior just as much as his behavior affects his overall wellness.
As a pet owner she knows first-hand how profoundly your relationship with your pet and your life can be affected by your pet’s behavior.
With this in mind, she founded Pawsitive DiMensions to help build, enhance, and restore owner-pet relationships by improving pet behavior through communication and training in order to experience all the positive dimensions a pet can bring to their life.
Gayle’s passion for helping animals led her to a bachelor’s degree in VT over 15yrs ago. She commonly encountered clients who were frustrated with their pet’s behavior, and pursued education to create a better life for pets and their people. In order to help owners effectively train, manage and change behaviors, she began she began to attend continuing education on companion animal behavior and training. As she worked on improving pet’s quality of life through training and enrichment , she discovered that pet-owner relationships improved exponentially. This led to becoming a certified pet dog trainer and starting training private lessons and classes. Looking for more answers, Gayle attended the Karen pryor academy graduating with distinction.
Over the past few years, pet behavior has been the main focus of in her work as a veterinary technician, veterinary technician and assistant instructor and pet trainer (dogs, cats and small mammals). Currently, Gayle works ?with individual clients in their homes and local communities to help owners and their pets live happily ever after together. She also applies her behavioral and technical skills at local veterinary clinics and small group classes in the surrounding northwest Austin area. Gayle continues to advance her knowledge and skills as a veterinary technician, pet trainer and teacher and recently achieved the professional designation as a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Behavior.
